Sometimes messages come to me through insects and cars, sometimes through dream.
Sometimes, they come in dream shorthand -- through snatches of song that flit and flutter through my consciousness (or repeat insistently) as I wake up in the morning.
This morning's was the latter, an Elton John lyric that is still looping through my mind hours after I opened my eyes.
For you and I have a guardian angel...
It's the second consecutive morning I've been awakened by these reassuring words from the song "True Love," and they remind yet again me that as I pay attention, I am taken care of...magnificently.
Yesterday's guardian angel message, for example, arrived shortly before I learned that The MoonQuest had been named a finalist in a national book award!
"How can I doubt?" I ask myself....even as, in my humanity, I still sometimes do.

Paying More Attention

I am "nudged" through the little, sweetly clowny chickadees in my Brooklyn neighborhood. Whenever I am grinding the wheels in my brain (read: obsessive thinking), either I trip on the sidewalk, see a garden with beautiful flowers - in December in NYC! - or a chubby bird pops up and flits around in nearby bushes. So faerie! And not a distraction, a reminder that there are more important things in life...like enjoying it!
I clear my crown shakra every day (when I'm being smart enough to pray and meditate) and I ask the angels to take my fears surrounding the ascended masters and spirits. I am not Christian, but I have come to appreciate Jesus' teachings now more than ever. He had that wonderful passage about the birds of the air, not worrying about anything and having every need fulfilled.
And if the Universe wants me to get a message, it is repeated over and over by progressively unexpected-to-outlandish sources: a song, relatives or friends who are "not into the esoteric", a billboard (really!), etc.
Cheers and bright blessings,
Suze
P.S. Have you asked your guardian angel's name yet? Mine is Theresa. But then, Michael - as in the archangel - has been with me since I was a child. I used to see him, but never really knew what it was about. He protected me from really awful things and I never knew it was him. Now he talks, laughs (yeah, I do dumb things sometimes), and still protects me in a physical way if necessary (and steers my dear family that has passed over gently away if I am praying or overwhelmed). I am also told that he has a wicked sense of humor. I asked him about it one day...
Dear Suze,
It's amazing to consider that we have access to all the loving energies and guidance of the universe. All we have to do is ask and then allow the response to touch us...in whatever way it does.
Finally, of course, we're called on to trust that response and, if necessary, act on it...even if that action is non-action.
Keep listening. Keep watching. Keep trusting!
Blessings,
Mark David
